It's IMPORTANT to tell your dental professional

Cassie Minor started this conversation

Before your dental appointment, try to make a little medicine and medical history list.Trust me, it is very important to let your dental professional know these things.  It may not seem important, but dental professionals only know what you tell them and so many things have an impact on the mouth. I can't count how many times a patient remembers a surgery or medication during or when the appointment is over.

Examples:

  • Certain conditions may require an antibiotic before treatment or a life-threatening situation can occur (especially with a cleaning).
  • Some medications can give the wrong signals to the person examining you.
  • While others must be stopped before certain treatment.

Do yourself a favor and make the list. Everyone forgets. Not to mention, it doesn't seem like it has anything to do with your dental appointment, but it does.
